
Vitacom has a long history of providing satellite
equipment and services. Vitacom started by supplying
satellite equipment and services to Fortune 100 companies in
the United States. Vitacom then expanded into Latin America,
supplying the first private satellite network in Mexico, to
ITESM. Vitacom has increased it's presence in Latin America,
providing equipment and services into almost all Latin
American countries. More recently, Vitacom has started providing services into Africa, covering the
continent using IS-907 and IS-1R.
Vitacom is headquartered in Los Altos, California. The corporate offices and administrative functions
are located in Los Altos, as is the equipment group. The
equipment group designs and manufactures RF equipment,
including BUC's and transceivers, in addition to reselling modems, antennas, and other satellite
equipment.
Vitacom operates a world-class teleport in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The teleport provides connectivity
covering the United States, Latin America and the Caribbean, and Africa. The teleport has antennas
pointed to a number of satellites, including Satmex V C and Ku-band, Satmex VI, IS-907, IS-805, and PAS-1R.
The teleport supports SCPC links and TDM links. The typical application
now provides Internet connectivity at the teleport, however connectivity to terrestrial fiber
circuits or telephone lines is also available.
Vitacom has recently opened a sales and support office in Queretaro, Mexico.
